Your Wellness Shouldn’t Be a Fad

I help people develop skills and systems that allow them to experience more food freedom, which means less stress about what to eat. We can work together to simplify your health goals and plans so you can achieve more balance with a healthy lifestyle.

I’ve worked as a dietitian since 2013 and most people who want to work with me tell me something along the lines of “I want to lose weight,” “I’ve tried every diet,” “I don’t know what to eat,” etc. The work that I do helps people untangle the lifestyle factors that might be contributing to their discomfort in their body and identify where they can make meaningful and lasting change in their habits to help with feeling better.

It’s different from the approaches we hear about a lot – diets that promise results if we just follow a few rigid rules or supplements we should take in order to optimize the way our bodies work. Ultimately, it takes some hard work, experimenting and developing systems for getting consistent but it is certainly possible to dig deep and change habits and it’s an honor to me that I get to support people as they do that hard work. In the end, participants feel more empowered, less stressed, more free to shift their attention to things they want to be doing.

Background + Education

I went to school not knowing what I wanted to study but I knew I wanted to help people. I eventually discovered I could study nutrition and I was excited because I had a personal interest in baking and cooking and I’d experienced my own struggles to find balance between diet, physical activity, and other lifestyle areas.

In 2011 I earned my Registered Dietitian credential and I taught undergraduate nutrition classes while in a Master’s program for nutrition. After graduating with my Master’s degree in 2013 I started working as a health coach in a phone-based weight management program. I completed an immensely valuable 4 month training for that job and quickly found myself loving the work I was doing because it was having a meaningful and positive impact on people’s lives.

My Clients + Process

The participants I work with have unique backgrounds, motivations and challenges, but the overwhelming majority have many things in common; they feel stressed, tired, defeated after trying to make changes to their lifestyle many times before, they don’t have much free time, and the way they talk to themselves and about themselves is sometimes harsh and very unhelpful.

I use my academic and professional experience to help participants clarify their health goals and identify the next steps that could help with making progress toward those goals. We check in regularly to see if their daily actions are helping them progress to their goals, if their goals are still relevant, and if there is additional information or support I can provide.

I’m passionate about this work because it helps people by empowering them with knowledge and skills that help them feel their best and live a more fulfilling life. Are you ready to start living your best life? Let’s see if we’re a fit.

Ditch the Weekend Meal Prep Grind

“I used to spend a full day every weekend prepping food for the week.  It was exhausting.” I hear this from clients all the time.  What they don’t say is, “And please don’t make me do that again,” but luckily they don’t have to.  I help make eating...
